É o primeiro projeto no Brasil.

The Midas Touch

It’s hard to imagine that just twenty years ago, there was no football ‘business’ to speak of – not really. Revenue came in from ticket sales alone, fans got cold on creaking terraces; there were no logos on players’ shirts or megabig corporate sponsors. Today, it’s the world’s most popular sport, and the world of business has been very steadily turning muddy pitches into fields of gold.

But the continued success of the international football business is not guaranteed. The economic landscape of football is changing faster than you can shift a goal post: new regulation to curb financial profligacy; the move away from Europe’s traditional hegemony as the market there matures (and the old – and new – money seeks new territories); and the internet – both blessing and curse – which is radically transforming the way the business of football is done.

Given this fast-evolving landscape, the FT/IFA Business of Football Summit asks: What must the global football business do to stay competitive?

And what better place than Brazil to hold the FT/IFA summit? Securing the world’s two biggest sporting events (World Cup 2014, Olympics 2016) in such a short timeframe has put the country – considered the spiritual home of football – right in the spotlight of the global sports industry. We’ll be tackling some of the biggest issues facing the international football business community, through, in part, the prism of what is happening in the Brazilian game.
The Summit, which takes place in Rio, coincides with the Confederation Cup, an will feature the leading voices in the world of football – both on and off-pitch – in a penetrating and dynamic mix of interviews, panel sessions and keynote presentations.

The idea of the documentary movie will be to anticipate what the society will look like and how this WiseSmart Grid will change the way we interact among us and with the objects and content around us. We will provide more information on this project as we move forward in our relation with Luc.

WISeKey Chairman met with UNITAID chairman Philippe Douste-Blazy and former U.S. President Bill Clinton to discuss the extension of the WISeKey Clinton Commitment to include activities related to UNITAID with the objective to be ready to be announced during the 2013 Clinton Initiative Meeting in New York in September.

WISeKey is helping the Clinton Global Initiate to use identity management to allow users to send micro remittances with their mobiles using Wiseid apps.

UNITAID and the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) have ordered and delivered products to 38 countries and have brokered average price reductions of 40% on 25 formulations of HIV/AIDS medicines.

Their paediatric HIV/AIDS programme, involving financial commitments totaling US$ 50 million from both partners (US$ 35 million from UNITAID and US$ 15 million from CHAI), successfully enrolled 40 000 additional children on treatment by the end of July, with the expectation of reaching the target of 100 000 additional children by the start of 2008.

Children have historically been left behind in access to HIV/AIDS treatment in developing countries. Only 1 in 7 children in need 115,000 total were on treatment at the end of 2006, compared to nearly 2 million adults, or 1 in 3 in need. The partnership between UNITAID and CHAI will roughly double the number of children on HIV/AIDS treatment in one year.

Speaking today, President Clinton said, Countless people are alive today thanks to UNITAID. In just one year, the benefits of the funds raised by France and other countries are being felt around the world. I am proud to be partnering with UNITAID to achieve these results.

Philippe Douste-Blazy, chairman of the UNITAID board, added, The promise of UNITAID was to reach more people with better, more affordable medicines. We have fulfilled that promise, working closely with President Clinton. We are proud of the results to date, and we will work to a long-term partnership with the Clinton Foundation to extend the success of these programmes.
