WISeKey
and OISTE to deploy secure e-Portals worldwide. |
The
World Internet Secure Key (WISeKey SA), the world’s only
geo-politically recognized scaleable Public Key Infrastructure
and Global Common ROOT service and Datamatics, a world leader on
system integration, today signed an agreement to develop third
generation PKI utilities and software based on WISekey’s
Common ROOT and CPS.
The first product resulting from this cooperation is a Secure
PKI Portal package “TrustEportal” providing the first
public-key infrastructure (PKI) solution that bridges the gap
between traditional non secure portal technology and PKI enabled
Portal security. The Secure PKI Portal package is a complete,
scalable, and highly configurable software for implementing PKI
based applications for Certification Authorities (CA) and
Registration authority (RA) and wireless PKI portal solutions.
The Secure PKI Portal package allows PKI protocols and
certificates to work with traditional portal applications.
The
TrustEportal package combines with the WISeCert Certificate
Authority (CA) and WISekey’s comprehensive line of security
toolkits to make TrustEportal the one stop needed for all PKI-based
portal security. Key elements of the TrustePortal are
certificate based client authentication, strong encryption and
secure electronic signatures..
The main objective of TrustEPortal is to create markets on the
Net by bringing together fragmented groups of international
enterprises (buyers and sellers online) - quicker, securely, and
more cost-efficient than ever before. The TrustEPortal uses
unique technology to interconnect PKI to Vertical Market
Portals, bringing certified users to transact securely in all
major product and service groups listed in the World Custom
Organization Harmonized System.
The
TrustEportal interconnects a global network of registration
authorities classified by Bronze, Silver and Gold services.
Bronze is the entry level service. There is no upfront cost
except for the cost of standard PCs with Web Browsers and
Internet access. A number of Registration Officers within the
Registration Organisation are given the ability to access a
Web-based registration server. The registration server is run by
WISeKey and may be shared by a number of Registration
Organisations. Silver is the mid-level service. Registration
Organisations have their own RA and associated Web-based
registration servers. There is therefore an upfront cost. Gold
is the top level service. Registration Organisations have their
own CA.
OISTE and WISekey delivers a Secure Portal to the Mauritius
Government:

This
e-portal is the outcome of the
WISekey-EPZDA
e-Marketplace
cooperation
for the Mauritius Export Processing Zones Development Authority
(EPZDA). The EPZDA was set up in the early 1990’s to
consolidate business growth and ensure the smooth roll out of
the Mauritius Government’s economic plans. Mauritius is keen to
fructify its vision to position itself as a world class business
center. To achieve this objective, it has decided to promote
world exports, training, technology enhancements and enhanced
regional co-operation.
In its mission to support the local industry, EPZDA wants to set
up an e-Marketplace. This is intended to provide easy access to
information on suppliers of raw materials, automate the
procurement process such as placing orders for raw materials,
accessories and equipment. The e-Marketplace will stimulate
Mauritius based traders to establish themselves in International
market by showcasing their local manufacturers to rest of the
business world.
The WISekey e-markeplace solution provides for a B2B portal
using PKI for basic identification and access control
functionalities.
WISeKey is regarded as the only geo-politically recognised ROOT
certificate. This benefits from Switzerland’s political
neutrality, worldwide reputation of efficiency and tradition in
security issues. WISeKey is no competitor to present and future
Certification Authorities but instead, provides them with the
distinctive advantage of global recognition and
interoperability.
The objectives of the eMarketplace itself will be to provide a
set of inter-connected modules to provide the necessary services
for conducting B2B activities. For
mauritian businesses to survive, they will have to adopt new
ways of conducting business worldwide. To help Industry meet the
new challenges and the rapid globalisation of the world market,
the Export Processing Zones Development Authority (EPZDA) of
Mauritius, is currently in the finalisation stage of the
ambitious project of setting up an emarketplace for Industry
with the help of WISeKEY.
About EPZDA
The Export Processing Zones Development Authority (EPZDA) is a
parastatal institution conceived in 1990. A period when
Mauritius was in its second phase of industrialisation
characterised by low production cost stemming from low wages,
favourable international conditions and an abundance of
semi-skilled labour. To embark successfully on the next phase of
development a proactive approach to industrial policy and
industrial restructuring was required. Upgraded skills, quality
products, improved delivery times and creativity in product
design were the prerequisites to withstand international
competition. EPZDA was therefore, set up in September 1992. Its
primary objective was to address those issues critical to the
successful transition from a labour-abundant to a
skills-intensive economy. Specialised skills were needed to
enhance productivity through improvement in the level of
technology and management techniques.
